Yesterday marked the 62nd Foundation day of Dro-phen Men-Tsee-Khang. Our College in collaboration with the two Men-tsee-khang clinics of Koranmangala and Mahalakshimi celebrated the anniversary with a small function in the morning at 10:30 am.
The day started with a prayer to the Medicine Buddha and lightening of a butter lamp before the portrait of the His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. Our college’s vice principal Dr Lobsang Yeshi took the podium and introduced the day by tracing the historical development of the institution from its inception to the present day with stories and anecdotes.
Then, the Director of the Dalai Lama Institute for higher education who presided over the function as the chief guest spoke at length on the importance and uniqueness of Traditional Tibetan medicine, his own personal interest for the medicine and give away awards to the toppers of the last academic year.
The members of the former student council were also acknowledged and rewarded for their exemplary services on the same occasion.
The function concluded with an end note from the host and announcement for various activities of recreations and amusements organized for the latter part of the day.
