MEDICAL CAMP AT Dayananda Sagar University

Tibet Week 2025 commenced with a grand inaugural ceremony at the School of Engineering, Dayananda Sagar University (DSU) on 7th November 2025 at 10:45 a.m.
The event was graced by Dr. B. S. Satyanarayana, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of DSU, as Chief Guest, and Acharya Jigme Tsultrim, Chief Representative Officer – South Zone, CTA, as Guest of Honour, along with several distinguished dignitaries.

The ceremony began with the traditional lamp lighting and offering of Khatak and souvenirs by Dr. Tenzin Passang, Principal of The Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Education (DLIHE). In her welcome address, Mrs. Supriya Mathew emphasized the harmony of modern learning with the “education of the heart,” followed by Dr. Tenzin Passang’s introduction to the objectives and cultural significance of Tibet Week.

The Chief Guest highlighted the preservation of ancient Indian wisdom through Tibetan and Mongolian traditions, while Acharya Jigme Tsultrim stressed the role of shared knowledge in fostering cultural harmony.
A key highlight was the participation of Bangalore MenTseeKhang Medical College, offering free traditional Tibetan medical and astrological consultations, enriching visitors with the essence of Sowa Rigpa and Tibetan astrology.

The event also featured the inauguration of the Tibet Museum Exhibition, a Mandala Puja by Gyurmey Monastery monks, and a visit to the Tibetan Medical Exhibition Centre. Organized by DLIHE, the week-long festival showcases Tibet’s profound cultural heritage, traditional wisdom, medicine, astrology, and cuisine.

In the afternoon, from 2:30 to 3:40 p.m.Dr. Dorjee Rapten Neshar, Principal of MenTseeKhang Medical College and Hospital, delivered an insightful lecture at DSU Medical College on the global impact of Tibetan Medicine, its deep ties to Tibetan Astrology, and the importance of collaboration between Tibetan and modern medical systems for universal well-being.

A total of 25 students and 12 staff members from MenTseeKhang, including Principal Dr. Dorjee Rapten, actively participated—making the celebration both meaningful and memorable.

In celebration of the 90th birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, a Free Medical Camp was held on 18th July 2025 at Shanthiniketan Group of Institutions, B.M. Vivekanandanagar, near Reliance Petrol Bunk, Ramanagara. The event was jointly organized by the Rotary Club, Ramanagaram, and Mentseekhang Sowa Rigpa Medical College & Hospital, Bangalore, as a tribute to the life and teachings of His Holiness through compassionate community service. From 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, residents from the surrounding areas received free health check-ups, traditional Sowa Rigpa consultations, wellness guidance from experienced medical professionals, and one week’s worth of free medicine for all patients.
This noble initiative brought together volunteers, healthcare professionals, and local residents in a spirit of gratitude and unity, reflecting the core values of compassion, healing, and service that His Holiness has long championed. The camp not only delivered essential medical care but also raised awareness about preventive health practices and the healing benefits of traditional Tibetan medicine. The organizers extended their heartfelt appreciation to all participants and supporters who contributed to making this event a meaningful and respectful tribute to a global spiritual leader.
