Every year B.S.R.M.S (UG) admission is strictly done through qualifying the NCISM NEET exam conducted by National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) for all the Sowa-Rigpa colleges in India.
Admission Procedure for the Sowa-Rigpa Menpa Kachupa (UG) course as per NCISM Sowa-Rigpa MSE regulations, 2022
- Eligibility for admission:
(1) The eligibility to seek admission in Bachelor of Sowa-Rigpa Education (Bachelor of Sowa-Rigpa Medicine and Surgery) shall be as under, –
- (i) The candidate shall have passed 10+2 with Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) or any other 10+2 equivalent qualifications of other streams recognised by concerned State Government or Central Government education boards and shall have obtained minimum of fifty per cent. marks taken in the case of General category and forty per cent. marks in the cases of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes; or
- 10+2 or equivalent qualifications with Bhoti language, Buddhist philosophy and logic recognised by State Government or Central Government education boards shall have obtained minimum of fifty per cent. marks taken
in the case of General category and forty per cent. marks in the cases of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes; or
- for foreign candidate with any other equivalent qualification approved by the University or the Central
- No candidate shall be admitted to B.S.R.M.S. Degree programme unless he or she has attained the age of seventeen years on or before the 31st December of the year of his or her admission in the first year of the under- graduate programme.
- NCISM Sowa-Rigpa UG National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET):
(a) There shall be a uniform entrance examination for all Sowa-Rigpa medical institutions at the under-graduate level, namely, the ―National Commission for Indian System of Medicine – National Eligibility- cum- Entrance Test for Sowa-Rigpa (NCISM-NEET SR UG)‖ admission to under-graduate programme in each academic year and shall be conducted by an authority or institute or agency designated by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine.
(b) In order to consider for admission to under-graduate programme for an academic year, it shall be necessary for a candidate to obtain minimum of marks at fifty per cent. in the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine- National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Sowa-Rigpa (NCISM-NEET SR UG) under-graduate programme held for the said academic year:
Provided that in respect of, candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks shall be at forty per cent.;
Provided further that the power of reducing or increasing the minimum marks required for admission to undergraduate programme for candidates shall be vested with the commission for that academic year only.
- An All-India common merit list of the eligible candidates shall be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine -National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Sowa-Rigpa (NCISM-NEET SR UG) and the candidates shall be considered for admission to under-graduate programme from the said merit lists only.
- The counselling for admission to Bachelor of Sowa-Rigpa Medicine and Surgery Programme shall be conducted by Sowa-Rigpa Central Counselling Committee (SRCCC) constituted by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine in this behalf and in this process the policy on reservation of the concerned state (if any) in the admission of Sowa-Rigpa under-graduate Programme shall be considered.
- (i) Direct admission by any means other than above specified shall not be approved;
- The institution shall have to submit the list of students admitted in the format specified by National Commission for Indian System of Medicine on or before 6 pm on the cut-off date for admission, specified by National Commission for Indian System of Medicine from time to time for verification;
- After verification, the approved list of admitted students shall be allotted unique AYUSH ID and it shall be the reference number for all academic and professional activities of him or her in future;
- Universities shall approve the admission of those candidates who have been allotted through
- No candidate who has failed to obtain the minimum eligibility marks under these regulations shall be admitted to under-graduate programme in the said academic year.
- No authority or institution shall admit any candidate to the under-graduate programme in contravention of the criteria or procedure laid down in these regulations in respect of admission and any admission made in contravention of the said criteria or procedure, such admission shall not be approved by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine.
- The authority or institution which grants admission to any student in contravention of the criteria or procedure laid down in these regulations shall be dealt as specified under section 28 of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020.
